CECA | Cautionary Update – Trading of CEC Africa shares on the LuSE

Shareholders of the Company are referred to the cautionary announcement released by CEC Africa Investments Limited (“CECA” or “the Company”) on 24 August 2017, in which shareholders and the market were informed that the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zambia (“SEC”) had directed that trading of CECA shares on the second tier market (Quoted Tier) of the Lusaka Securities Exchange (“LuSE”) could only commence 30 days from the date of publication of the interim results of CECA for the period ended 30 June 2017.

The Company wishes to advise shareholders and the market that the interim results of CECA were published on 7 September 2017 and therefore the shares of CECA are now permitted to start trading on the LuSE quoted market effective 9 October 2017 as per SEC Directive.

The SEC has requested that this cautionary announcement remain in force until the audited financial statements of CECA for the year ending 31 December 2017 are published.

Accordingly, shareholders and the investing public are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the shares of CECA before publication of the audited results for the year ending 31 December 2017 and should seek professional advice from a licensed investment adviser or broker.
